AULA 2020: Come to our stand and learn to write your name in Arabic

For yet another year, Casa Árabe is attending the educational trade fair Aula 2020, where we will be attending from March 4 to 8. At our stand, you will get the chance to learn how to write your name in Arabic with the help of calligrapher M.S. Ale Isaac.
For the second year in a row, Casa Árabe will be taking part in Aula 2020, the education trade fair, with a stand devoted to its Arabic Language Center in Pavilion 12 (Stand 12G01). Students will get the opportunity to meet some of our teachers and receive information on our regular offering of courses in both classical Arabic and Arabic dialects, in addition to other courses like those on calligraphy, which we hold from time to time.
Learning Arabic has become a safe bet when it comes to increasing professional potential for those with any academic profile: journalists, doctors, engineers, diplomats, volunteers, economists, etc. Moreover, Arabic is the official language of the 22 countries in the League of Arab States, so those who can speak it gain access to interaction with people in a very broad geographic region running from North Africa to the Middle East.
At the Casa Árabe stand, from March 4 to 8, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., students can also take away a souvenir of the Arabic language in one of its most beautiful forms of expression, by learning to write their names in the writing system known as Thuluth, thus discovering the geometry of its letters in that spectacular style, with the help of M.S. Ale Isaac, a calligrapher and aerospace engineer.
The style of Thuluth (or “sülüs” in Turkish), is one of the main classical styles of Arabic writing. Famous for being an elegant cursive calligraphy, with wavy, oblique lines, in this style one-third of each letter is inclined (which is why its name in Arabic means “one-third”), and it was the calligraphy used in the Middle Ages in mosque decorations.
M.S. Ale. Isaac
A PhD student of Aerospace Engineering at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Sadeq Ale Isaac began to learn “Oriental” calligraphy, and Persian calligraphy in particular, in 2006, then continuing to learn Arabic calligraphy in the Thuluth style, the most geometric form of Arabic calligraphy, in 2009, earning a grade of A+ in both styles in 2011. Since then, he has specialized in Thuluth calligraphy, under the supervision of master S.M. Movahhed (a renowned calligrapher in the Islamic world), which has led him down myriad precious paths. He has combined this with his studies in Aerospace Engineering, working at a laboratory with drones to find the most optimal solutions for use in autonomous vehicles. He completed his bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Aerospace Engineering in Tehran, Iran, after which he came to Spain to complete his doctoral thesis. He earned an award for the best calligraphy work at the International Quran Exhibition of 2012, and at the Bismi-Allah Exhibition of 2012,
The Casa Árabe Language Center (CLA), with more than ten years of experience, has become well-known as a center of reference for learning Arabic as a foreign language in Spain. It stands out because of its innovative teaching methods, with quarterly courses for gradual learning, in which speaking skills are reinforced from the earliest levels. The staff of native teachers from different countries, with extensive experience teaching Arabic as a foreign language, give students the opportunity to choose between Standard Arabic or a dialect (Moroccan Darija, Egyptian or Levantine) and to be able to listen to the Arabic language and practice it in all of its forms of expression.

Aula 2020
Intended for students (fourth year of secondary schooling and higher) who must choose majors and schools to complete their education and enter the labor market, the AULA International Fair for Students and Educational Offerings will be held from Wednesday, March 4 through Sunday, March 8, 2020, Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. To gain access, you must pay for an entrance ticket (4.50 euros for the entire fair, for the general public).
