On this occasion, with the collaboration of Casa Árabe, the contest seeks to become more international and encourage all Arab writers and video creators, along with those linked to the Arab world, to make their work known in this new format created by the Planeta Gala Foundation.

The jury of the Fourth Planeta Gala International Booktrailers Contest, organized by Espacio Gala of the Antonio Gala Foundation, has awarded prizes to the following three works and their authors:

FIRST PRIZE: “Al despertar” (“Upon Awakening”) by Carlos Dueñas and David Santiso.
SECOND PRIZE: “Isaac” by Javier Cordero.
THIRD PRIZE: “El faro de los náufragos” (“The Castaways’ Lighthouse”) by Jesús Valenzuela.

After the awards ceremony and a viewing of the winning Booktrailers, the audience will get the chance to enjoy the “Madaen al-Ándalus” concert given by Sudanese oud player Wafir Gibril, Palestinian singer Rawan and percussionist Héctor Osorio "El Turco".

The Antonio Gala Foundation
The Antonio Gala Foundation is a private, non-profit institution devoted to promoting artistic creation. Founded by writer Antonio Gala in the city of Cordoba, its headquarters is located in the Corpus Christi Convent, built in the seventeenth century. It supports young creators by awarding one-year residency grants. The Foundation is a synthesis of Antonio’s work and his way of understanding art and culture; it is the summary of a way to understand human relations and the creative process, meant to endure the test of time. In terms of its philosophy and way of taking action, the Foundation is a realistic compendium of the good practices and best habits that should form part of every artist’s routine. The brilliant careers of many of the nearly three hundred creators who have lived inside the institution’s walls in its first twenty years of existence has resulted from its successful approach, as attested by the countless nationally and internationally significant awards won by the Foundation’s residents.

Planeta Gala is an interactive television platform run by the Antonio Gala Foundation for Young Creators. Its mission is to give continuity in the online world to the work to promote creativity and culture which the institution has been carrying out for over twenty years.
