Casa Árabe’s “Amistad” Award aims to recognize the work by individuals and entities, both public and private, whether domestic or foreign, that have made an outstanding contribution to spreading the Arabic language, innovating in the language, increasing awareness about it or extending its use to new activities that

enhance its uniqueness, as well as its heritage in the Spanish language and its vitality today. By creating the “Amistad” Award, Casa Árabe is attempting to increase awareness about the Arabic language and allow it to spread further, highlighting and rewarding those who contribute to its richness and expansion through their hard work and dedication. Arabic is a language with an increasing presence in the fields of science, culture and economics. Spain is a fine example of this, and Arabic has had a major linguistic influence on Spanish, with a growing community of Arabic speakers.
