Those tickets not sold online will be made available for purchase on
the day of the screening at Casa Árabe’s headquarters, as of one hour
before each screening (payment in cash or by debit/credit card).

The film will be shown in the original language version with subtitles in Spanish. Colloquium on the film in Spanish.
Our institution will be cooperating with the twenty-third edition of the Tarifa-Tangier African Film Festival as part of the Madrid extension it will be holding. Within the framework of this collaboration, we will be screening the film “La vie après Siham” (“Life After Siham”) on Thursday, May 28. A film colloquium will be held after the movie screening. For yet another year, Casa Árabe is contributing to African Film Festival of Tarifa-Tangiers (FCAT), to be held at different sites from May 22 to 30. For the year 2026 edition, the festival’s twenty-third, we will be contributing as part of the extension which is being held in Madrid with a screening of the film La vie après Siham (Life After Siham), by Egyptian director Namir Abdel Messeeh, on May 28.
After the screening, a film colloquium will be held with Belal Darder, an Egyptian photographer, who will be holding a talk with Karim Hauser, Casa Árabe’s Culture Coordinator.
La vie après Siham (Life After Siham), by Namir Abdel Messeeh (Egypt, France, 2025, 76 min). When Siham disappears, Namir does not realize she has left forever. To him, a mother is immortal. Namir then sets out to research the history of his family, which spans both Egypt and France. In a style reminiscent of Youssef Chahine’s films, a story about exile begins to take shape. It is a story filled with love, too, however. A tale which remains ever alive.
Namir Abdel Messeeh spent his early years in Egypt before taking up residence in France, where he studied film directing at La Fémis. He made several short-subject films before tackling more intimate themes in “Toi, Waguih” (“You Waguih”). His first feature film, La Vierge, les Coptes et moi (The Virgin, the Copts and I), is a humorous exploration of the relationship with his homeland and his Coptic family. Selected for screening at many festivals, including those in Cannes and Berlin and CPH: DOX, the film earned the Silver Tanit at the Carthage International Film Festival in 2011 and the Best Documentary Award at the Doha Film Festival, before being seen by 112,000 viewers in French theaters. La Vie après Siham (Life After Siham) is his second feature film,. Its world premiere took place as part of ACID at Cannes.
