For all those interested in making items related to the heritage of the Landscape of Light more visible on Wikipedia, Casa Árabe, with the cooperation of the Municipal Government of Madrid, is offering its facilities on two mornings in November and December.

Since July 2021, Madrid has been on UNESCO’s World Heritage List, which includes sites of outstanding universal value. Thus, the Paseo del Prado and the Buen Retiro Park fall within the category of a Cultural Landscape, with the particularity of being in an extraordinary urban site where culture, science and nature have coexisted since the mid-sixteenth century. This Landscape of Light is the first location to hold this distinction in the city of Madrid, and the fifth in the Autonomous Region.

The event forms part of the series of training activities begun in 2020, organized by Wikiesfera in conjunction with the World Heritage Service of the Directorate General of Cultural Heritage, which forms part of the Madrid Municipal Government’s Department of Culture, Tourism and Sport, with the goal of making it easier for everyone to learn more about the features in the Landscape of Light in a way that can be consulted on Wikipedia (buildings, flora, biographies, works of art...).
