For yet another year, our institution is working with Spain’s Diplomatic
School to coordinate a seminar about this region, as part of the
inter-university Master’s degree program in Diplomacy and International
Relations, to be held from November 16 to 18 in an online form.
The seminar provides an introduction to today’s Arab world, a key region for understanding the development of international relations and diplomacy in recent decades, an area with which Spain engages in important political and economic relations as a result of its historical and cultural links with the region.
In a reduced form lasting 12 hours, the seminar is divided into six sessions, on the contemporary history of the region and the latest political transformations after the Arab Springs; social changes and movements; conflicts and the geostrategic reorganization of the Arab countries; the geopolitics of energy, and Spanish foreign policy towards the Middle East and North Africa.
For the first time, the seminar will be given in an online form this year, through the Diplomatic School’s Virtual Classroom.
