Casa Árabe Presents the Arabic Language Edition of "España Inteligible"
From April 14, 2014 until April 25, 2014
This work by Julián Marías was presented in the Egyptian capital on April 3.
The presentation of the Arabic language edition of “España Intelilgible” (“Understanding Spain”) by Julián Marías took place at the headquarters of the Instituto Cervantes in Cairo last April 3.
This project is the result of close collaboration between Casa Árabe, the Embassy of Spain in Cairo, the Association of Hispanists of Egypt, the University of Aswan and the Kotob Khan publishing firm.
This activity organized in Cairo, which made it possible to inform people in that country about the project, building the foundations for its dissemination amongst Arab interlocutors, included speeches by the Director of Casa Árabe, Eduardo López Busquets; the President of the Association of Hispanists of Egypt, Nagwa Mehrez; the work’s translator, Ali Menufi; the publisher and owner of the Kotob Khan publishing firm, Karam Youssef, and the Ambassador of Spain in Cairo, Fidel Sendagorta.
The work had already been presented at Casa Árabe’s headquarters in Madrid on March 20, at an event which included participation by Professor Helio Carpintero, a scholar with great knowledge about Marías’ thought, and the translator Ali Menufi, as well as the author’s sign, Álvaro Marías.
