With its presence at this international forum, Casa Árabe is supporting increased awareness about Spanish culture while highlighting the importance of Arab culture. The institution’s General Director, Irene Lozano, will be taking part in several of the meetings at this literary event.

Casa Árabe will be taking part in the Frankfurt Book Fair on October 22 and 23, and its General Director, Irene Lozano, just attended this morning. The institution’s top representative will be taking part in two round tables: on October 22, she will be taking part, alongside the director of the Cervantes Institute, Luis García Montero, in a meeting titled “Literature and Football.” One day later, on Sunday, October 23 at 6:00 p.m., and she will be taking part in a round table discussion titled “Reporting on Football in the Times of VAR and Qatar?,” a talk and literary lecture with members of the Spanish and German national teams of writers and publishers.

Through this presence at the most important literary fair on the European continent, Casa Árabe is supporting increased awareness about Spanish culture while highlighting the relevance of Arab culture in today’s societies all over the world.

Moreover, Casa Árabe is cooperating to help organize the football match to be held on Saturday, October 22 at 6:00 p.m. between the national team “La Cervantina,” made up of Spanish writers and publishers, and their German counterparts. At this now traditional meet-up during the Fair, the cultural division of the German Football Federation organizes a match in which representatives of the guest country play against their own nationals.

The backing of the Cervantes team is one of the activities forming part of the program “Football for Hope,” which Casa Árabe has promoted to mark the holding of soccer’s World Cup in an Arab country for the first time ever. The Spanish team will be made up of Nuria Labari, Enrique Ballester, Álex Grijelmo, Gabi Martínez, Pablo García Casado, Emilio Sánchez Mediavilla and Álex Prada, as well as others.
