Casa Árabe joins the celebration of Theater Night, organized by the Autonomous Region of Madrid, with a show put on by Spanish actor Marco Magoa.
Over the last seven years, Marco Magoa, a Spanish actor, playwright and theater director, has directed ten theatrical performances in Arabic that have premiered in Morocco, Egypt and Jordan, with the participation of more than 70 Arab performers of ten different nationalities. Most of these plays have been put on in Egypt, where Magoa has spent long periods of time since the year of 2010. He has also studied and worked in the US, Namibia, Italy, Morocco, Egypt, Syria, Jordan and Denmark.
On the night of "Theater Night," he will be presenting us with his work in the Arab world over the past seven years, including the rehearsals for "Bodas de sangre" ("Blood Wedding") in Cairo during the Egyptian revolution, the dreams of youths, the new momentum gained in the stage arts after the Arab Springs and their relationship with the political situation. Through his testimonials, photographs and videos, he will explain the process which these projects have undergone with his company teatro4m, including the latest, a trilogy of plays which are being staged in the Middle East, Africa and Europe to speak about the drama of the death of so many human beings, mostly Arabs, in the Mediterranean.
