On Saturday, May 23, children will have the opportunity to learn about Yemeni life, its landscapes, food, and clothing through this workshop we are organizing in Madrid. Sign up now and don’t miss out on your spot! The activity is part of the program “Yemen: A Journey to the Gates of Arabia.”
The workshop, designed for children ages 6 to 10, is specially crafted to help children discover Yemen’s cultural richness in a fun and creative way, while learning some basic words and expressions in Arabic.
Through games, stories, songs, and other activities, the children will explore key aspects of Yemeni life, such as its landscapes, traditional foods, colorful clothing, and, of course, its famous jambiya!
During the session, the children will listen to a traditional Yemeni folktale and learn to identify distinctive features of Yemeni architecture, such as the mud-brick houses of Hadramaut and the tower houses of Sana’a with their colorful qamariyas. They will also visit the photography exhibition “Hadramaut: Persistence and Memory,” located in the Column Hall at Casa Árabe.
At the end, each participant will take home a handmade souvenir from Yemen.
This activity will be led by Dima Raghis, a teacher at the Casa Árabe Language Center and head of the Arabic for Children program.
