Concert: "Ziryab’s Journey"

From November 21, 2013 until December 09, 2013

Eduardo Paniagua and César Carazo will be giving this concert on Tuesday, November 26 at 7:30 p.m. at our Cordoba headquarters. Their music is a synthetic, global vision of the melodies in medieval Spain, in which the Arab/Islamic, Christian and Jewish cultures maintained extraordinary relations.

Entrance to the show is free, after picking up tickets at Casa Árabe (at Calle Samuel de los Santos Gener, 9) from November 18-22, from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Maximum of two tickets per person.

Eduardo Paniagua

Considered one of the Spanish musicians to have done the most notable work towards recovering the musical heritage of the Middle Ages, Mr. Paniagua received the Prize for Best Classical Music Performer from Spain’s Music Academy in 2009. He created the label PNEUMA with well-known artists and produced numerous albums which have received rave reviews and won several national and international awards. His work Three Cultures is a synthesis of the most specific from each of them, in which he combines solo performers from several groups to create a concert that symbolizes co-existence in medieval Spain.

César Carazo

A native of Badajoz, he is the finest representative of medieval Spanish song in Romance languages: Galician-Portuguese, Catalan-Occitan, Mudejar-Andalusi and Hebrew-Sephardic. He has taken part in a large number of album recordings with Eduardo Paniagua’s group Música Antigua, Neocantes, Concento Musical, Capilla Real de Madrid, Capella Reial de Catalunya, Axivil Criollo, Axivil Castizo y Goyesco, Cuarteto de Urueña, Capilla del Real de Las Palmas, Tre Fontane, Ibn Bayya (Spain and Morocco) and Accentus (Austria).
