For yet another year, Casa Árabe is cooperating with the Cordoba Guitar
Festival, which is celebrating its 37th edition with a performance on
July 3 by this Tunisian virtuoso of vocals and the oud. Tickets now on
sale.
Youssef, who has set up his creative space in Europe, explores new paths for a type of music which has risen from its Sufi roots and his vocal abilities.
Internationally recognized in the world of jazz, the Tunisian performer stands out because of the way he has conceived an exotic form of jazz, in which his voice becomes a unique feature, tying together the music, his culture and elements of contemporary jazz, making him one of Europe’s jazz virtuosos in recent years.
After the huge success of his latest album, “Birds Requiem” (distributed by Sony Music Entertainment), with more than 50,000 copies sold around the world, the master of the Arabic oud and renowned singer is back with an album titled “Diwan of Beauty and Odd,” a musical delight in which the prolific composer strengthens his status as one of the most innovative musicians of the last decade.
