Casa Árabe has organized this series of 20 conferences from October 2019 through November, 2020, under the coordination of Professor
Desiderio Vaquerizo of the University of Cordoba and Javier Rosón of
Casa Árabe.
Ever since Casa Árabe opened its doors in 2006, there have been countless activities carried out with the goal of defending, disseminating and highlighting the vast local, regional, national and international archeological heritage related with the Arab and Islamic world, as well as the city and region’s great historical past.
Many of these advancements have occurred in recent decades due to the researchers forming part of the Sísifo Research Group at the University of Cordoba (PAIDI HUM-236), led by Prof. Dr. Desiderio Vaquerizo Gil, who, since 2011, has also been carrying out very important work to raise awareness in conjunction with the scientific culture program “Arqueología Somos Todos” (“We Are All Archeology”). Several of the group’s members are taking part in the series of conferences which we are now offering, backed by a whole series of specialists and researchers who, through their respective fields of work, will be providing different perspectives, sufficient to give context for the many archeological innovations which have arisen from historical, cultural, social, economic and also human vantage points, while also enriching the points of view of anyone who is concerned with this subject.
Event brochure
A holistic approach to this reality constantly forces us to reflect upon the steps taken in that past, while at the same time making it essential to examine the most recent multidisciplinary innovations and scientific approaches.
