Amina Alaoui, a performer of Arab/Al-Andalus music and a world ambassador of this tradition, combines singing, composition and musicology research. Born in Fez, Morocco, she comes from a family with strong roots in Moroccan academic and folk traditions, as well as coming from a contemporary intellectual and artistic environment. She learned to play the piano and was introduced to European classical music by conductor Mohamed Abou Drar and studied at the Rabat Conservatory (1979-1981) with Ahmed Aydoun and M. Ouassini. She also studied modern and classical dance. In Granada, Amina specialized in Arab/Al-Andalus music and, more specifically, in gharnati music. Having moved to Paris in 1986, she learned the basic principles of gharnati music with Rachid Guerbas, and above all with Ahmed Piro in Rabat. Henri Agnel taught her medieval European music and Djallal Akhbari initiated her in Persian classical music, then giving several concerts with her.
José Luis Montón. Playing his guitar, he has toured great stages around the world, and his projects have involved performers such as Carmen Linares, Mayte Martín, Ara Malikian, Rosalía, Miguel Poveda, Pitingo, María Toledo, Antonio Canales, Javier Ruibal and Clara Montes, in addition to others.
