The tenth session in the event series Aula Árabe Universitaria, with the participation of Moroccan writer Meryem Alaoui, who authored the book “De la boca del caballo sale la verdad” (“From the Horse’s Mouth Comes the Truth). It will be taking place online, on Wednesday, February 5. Sign up here to attend.

As part of International Women’s Day and as part of the Aula Árabe Universitaria event series, Moroccan writer Meryem Alaoui will be engaging in a dialogue with students to talk about her novel “From the Horse’s Mouth Comes the Truth,” articulated around the lives of several female characters and her work as a writer.

The novel’s main character, Yemía, a brave and optimistic woman, makes her way through the underworld of the city she comes from, Casablanca, while dreaming of a different life. With humor and raw honesty, Alaoui draws a striking portrait of Moroccan society through the daily lives of her characters.

Organized with the cooperation of the School of Humanities at IE University and as part of the course “Feminism, Literature and Business,” the session will be presented by Celia De-Anca, director of the Center for Diversity in Global Management at that university, with a debate moderated by Olivia Orozco, Casa Árabe’s Training and Economics Coordinator.
