Event with Assem Al Bacha in Cordoba
From September 17, 2013 until September 19, 2013
On Thursday, September 19, an event will be held with Syrian artist Assem Al Bacha, author of the sculptures displayed at Casa Árabe’s headquarters in this city until September 22.
The exhibition “Assem Al Bacha. From Within: Sculptures of pain and rebellion. In memory of Namir,” allows us to view the path which this sculptor’s work has taken through a total of 36 works from the different artistic stages within his career, including pieces from his beginnings in the seventies to his most recent works, which are marked by the difficult situation that his country of origin is now living through.
This event will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Casa Árabe Auditorium (at Calle Samuel de los Santos Gener, 9). Assem Al Bacha will be accompanied by Ramón Montes Ruiz, a professor of Art History from the University of Cordoba, and María Dolores Jiménez Valiente, a plastic artist. Free entry until the room’s capacity is filled.
The exhibition will be open until September 22 from Monday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 to 6:30 p.m.; Sunday and holidays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
