Exhibition: "Abel’s Sons. Images of the Syrian Bedouins"

Casa Árabe hosts in its headquarters in Cordoba this 43-photograph exhibition with pieces of work on contemporary Syrian Bedouin society by the anthropologist and archaeologist Alberto Savioli.
The exhibition shows also some original pieces from Syria, like clothing and Bedouin daily objects, accompanied by texts and poetry on that society.
Inauguration took place on December 20th 2012, at 18.30. During the event the documentary film “Mafi Rabia – There's no more spring” was shown and Alberto Savioli and the documentary director, Thomas Wild Turolo, took part in. The documentary was shot in 2009-2012 and it depicts the Bedouin life in the Syrian desert, where drought and the difficulties to keep up with their way of life are the main topics of this unprecedented portrait of the Bedouin society. Afterwards, the director general of Casa Árabe, Eduardo López Busquets, inaugurated the exhibition.
The exhibition will be open to the public until February 28th 2013, Monday to Saturday from 11.00 to 15.00 and from 16.00 to 18.30; Sundays and holidays from 11.00 to 15.00.
