Exhibition on the Hajj in Granada

With the cooperation of the Euro-Arab Foundation of Granada, we are presenting an exhibition by Spanish artist Rojas al Andalusí titled, "The Hajj, Route of the Setting Sun. Dreams of the East at the Heart of nAl-Andalus." This exhibition will be officially opened on Thursday October 3 at 7:00 p.m. at the headquarters of the Euro-Arab Foundation in Granada (at Calle San Jerónimo, 27) and will remain on display until October 25 of this year.

Through his works, Rojas al Andalusí has recreated the sensations experienced by the Spanish people of Al-Andalus when they were forced to leave our lands with broken hearts, to face an uncertain trek filled with dangers, which led them on a spiritual and cultural journey that culminated in the place towards which they had been sending their prayers and pleas for their entire lives. This exhibition is made up of more than twenty paintings, in which the artist uses a wide range of techniques, including oil paint, watercolor, tempera, engravings and graphite. In them he portrays places of importance for our legacy of Al-Andalus.
