The Green Heritage Community of Practice will be holding its second webinar on May 7, with the title “Culture as a Driver of Climate Adaptation and Resilience: From data to community action,” with the participation of Olfa Arfaoui (Tunisia) and Vladimir Djurdjevic (Serbia). Sign up now to participate.
The session will explore the potential held by culture and the arts in bridging scientific knowledge, public engagement and climate action, examining how cultural practices can help build resilience, promote environmental awareness, and drive inclusive responses to the climate crisis.
During the session, Vladimir Djurdjevic, a professor at the University of Belgrade's School of Physics who specializes in climate change adaptation analysis, will be reflecting on the ways in which art practices can translate complex climate data into accessible, mobilizing narratives for society. As for Olfa Arfaoui, artist, co-founder and director of the FEMENA Network, she will be sharing experiences related to feminist, community-based cultural initiatives that combine creativity, social justice and sustainability.
The webinar will also include an open discussion with participants, reinforcing the Practice Community as a forum for sharing amongst professionals, researchers and cultural role-players interested in heritage and culture’s role in climate adaptation.
