Fifteenth Maghreb Congress / First Andalusia-Maghreb Congress on the History of Arab Mathematics

The congress will be taking place from April 23 to 25 at different times and locations.
The languages used at the congress will be: Spanish, Arabic, English and French.
With the cooperation of the University of Barcelona, Casa Árabe is hosting this congress, to be held in Cordoba from April 23 to 25.
The Maghreb Colloquium on the History of Arab Mathematics was first held in Algeria in 1986 and has continued every two years, alternating between Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco. This time around will be the first ever event to cross the Mediterranean, taking place in the city of Cordoba.
Since it was created, the colloquium has focused on research conducted in different fields directly or indirectly related to Arabic mathematics, namely: geometry, arithmetic, algebra, trigonometry, legacies, astronomy, mathematical geography, mechanics, optics, mathematical astrology, and matters involving the written transmission of these disciplines (i.e. manuscripts). The colloquium focuses mainly on the production of this knowledge in Al-Andalus and North Africa from the ninth to nineteenth centuries.
The sessions on Wednesday, April 23 and Friday, April 25 will be held at Casa Árabe’s headquarters, whereas the session on April 24 will be taking place in Medina Azahara.
