Fifth anniversary of CIHAR

The event, organized by the Intercultural Spanish-Arab Circle (CIHAR),
with the cooperation of Casa Árabe, will be held in Madrid on Thursday,
January 16 and will include music, dance and poetry.
The presentation will include speeches by Pedro Martínez-Avial, the General Director of Casa Árabe, as well as CIHAR’s president, Abdo Tounsi, its vice-president, Nour Larbi, and the international relations advisor, Juan David Latorre.
During the celebration, we will get the chance to enjoy music by singer Esmeralda Grao, a Spanish composer, musician and producer who won the Benidorm Festival in 1994. As a singer-songwriter, she has had six albums published, as well as collaborating with important Spanish performers. She is currently on a world tour with Melendi. After her performance, we will see flamenco singer Pili “La Sopita,” a young talent in the world of flamenco vocals with an amazing voice. Dancer Libertad de Prado will then be performing Middle Eastern dances.
The event will also include poetry recitals in Arabic and Spanish, by poets like Nizar Qabbani (نزار قباني), Mahmud Darwish (محمود درويش) and others. The recitals will be given by: singer Cristina del Valle, poet Abdul Hadi Sadoun and poet Ángeles Fernangómez, as well as others.
