First Elcano Forum on Global Terrorism: "Global Terrorism and the Western Mediterranean"
From November 18, 2013 until November 28, 2013
We are hosting this forum organized by the Real Instituto Elcano in Madrid, with the cooperation of the Embassy of the United States in Spain and the Ortega-Marañón Foundation. It is held on the dates of November 18-19 in the auditorium at our headquarters (at Calle Alcalá, 62).
For the first time ever, the Elcano Forum on Global Terrorism (FETG) is taking place. It will be taking over after the extraordinary work performed across eleven prior editions by the Permanent Seminar for Studies on Terrorism (SPET), held up to now under the auspices of the Ortega-Marañón Foundation.
The First Elcano Forum on Global Terrorism (FETG) will begin by focusing attention on the challenges which international terrorism with a Jihadist orientation causes for countries in Southern Europe and North Africa, which are located surrounding the geopolitical sub-region of the Western Mediterranean. The program of this first FETG includes a series of panel discussions at which we will present and discuss both the changes in the terrorist threats in the region’s various countries and the strategies, policies and measures adopted to counteract them, above all as regards the topic of international cooperation between the Governments on the northern and southern shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
The event’s capacity will be filled through prior registration. Further information at program of the First Elcano Forum on Global Terrorism and at: actividades@rielcano.org
