Football for Hope: The challenge

On Saturday, November 19, LaLiga and Casa Árabe will be presenting a space for recreational and athletic activities in Madrid’s Plaza de Colón as part of the “Football for Hope” activity schedule.

In the Casa Árabe and LaLiga space, consisting of an 800-square meter artificial turf enclosure, those attending will be able to take part in all kinds of football-related challenges to measure up their skills with a football from noon to 6:00 p.m.

Furthermore, at the event Casa Árabe’s General Director, Irene Lozano, will be giving out a T-shirt of player Yasmin Mrabet from the Levante Las Planas team, to the winner of the drawing we are holding on Instagram. Sign up now!

When they arrive at the venue, fans will be greeted by cheerleaders at the Information Point, where they will receive a special passport that they can use to record their participation and performance in each of the challenges, including a stamp and their score:

1. Kick-o-meter: fans will be able to test their strength and kicking speed with the official PUMA balls of LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank.

2. Precision goalkeeping: a challenge for the participants’ aim, they will have to hit the ball within the four indicated points on the goalpost.

3. Skill challenge: players will test their skills with the footballs from different locations across from the rival’s goalpost. They have to aim towards the goalpost, score a goal from the corners and try to score using special moves.

4. Header: can you match the way Arab players are able to jump up and reach incredible heights? Fans will be get the chance to compare their headers with several real-life sample shots from LaLiga Santander.

5. Miniature pitch: a freestyle play football pitch where a 3x3 tournament will also be held. Teams can sign up here. This activity is not scored in the passport.

6. 360-degree video: those taking part can do a live test of the strength of the 360-degree camera to record a customized video.

Once all five participation stamps are obtained, participants can show the passport at the start of the course, and they will receive a bag with a surprise gift from LaLiga.

“Football for Hope” is an initiative through which Casa Árabe aims to highlight the power of football as a tool for creating more inclusive societies. It includes exhibitions, films, book presentations, meetings...And it is backed by LaLiga, RTVE, Diario As and Spain’s Superior Council of Sports.
