French Foreign Policy and Religions
From February 26, 2014 until March 10, 2014
Conference given by Roland DubertrandMarch 6, 2014 - MADRID
Roland Dubertrand, an advisor for Religious Affairs of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will be analyzing in what way French diplomacy took religion into account as a factor as a result of the French Law for Separation of Church and State of 1905. Elements such as the national interest and the legacy of the past were essential at that time, as they were as of the 1970’s with the return of “the religious” on the international scene. The conference speaker will be explaining what tools we have available at this time and will deal with the current challenges involving the topics of foreign policy and religions.
This conference is taking place on Thursday, March 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the Casa Árabe auditorium in Madrid (at Calle Alcalá, 62). The conference will be given in French with simultaneous translation into Spanish. Free entry until the event’s capacity is reached.
