On Saturday, May 8, as part of the Nights of Ramadan, we will be giving this workshop, where you can learn about and play board games from Al-Andalus, taught by SextoMario. Registration has now begun.

Although the Muslim religion forbids games with wagering, various games imported from the East were played in Al-Andalus.

During this activity, those attending will get the chance to learn and play Andalusian board games, which were for the most part developed on the basis of formerly existing games even more ancient, originally created in Egypt or Mesopotamia, including some which have been handed down to us, like: backgammon, alquerque (qirkat), mancala and the hyena chase.
