Guided tours of the Rachid Koraïchi exhibition in Arabic

Saida Chermiti, who runs the Arabic Language Center, will be giving two
guided tours of the exhibition “This Long Journey into Your Eyes” in
Arabic. They will be held on the dates of May 10 and 17, 2019.
Registration has now begun.
Casa Árabe has organized two new guided tours of the exhibition This Long Journey into Your Eyes by Rachid Koraïchi, an internationally renowned artist known for his sculptural works, installations, ceramics and textiles. What will be new at the tours this time is that they will be given fully in the Arabic language, by Saida Chermiti, who runs Casa Árabe’s Arabic Language Center.
The exhibition provides a look back, for the first time ever in Spain, at Koraïchi’s most emblematic works, including seven series of pieces in cor-ten steel, bronze, alabaster and ceramics. His artistic production creates a harmony between the traditional and contemporary, as well as showing the influence created by a universe of his own with very different cultural origins, drawing us closer to the idea of syncretism, making him a truly universal artist. His work, filled with symbols, writings and graphics, bestows him with a unique quality that can be identified in all of the series of pieces he has been producing for years, now on display for view in the exhibition halls at Casa Árabe’s Madrid headquarters.
These guided tours are intended for Arabic Language Center students to complement their education at the center, and for the Arabic-speaking public in general and students of Arabic.
