In September, our workshops will be coming back to help us discover
Cordoba’s archeology and history through craftsmanship. During the
session on Thursday, September 25, we will be creating a protective
symbol shared by various cultures and religions of the East: the “Hand
of Fatima.” Sign up now!
The Hamsa or Khamsa (Hand / Five) symbol can be found in Islam, Judaism and Buddhism, though it is given different names (the hand of Fatima, the hand of Miriam and Abhaya Mudra, respectively).
At this workshop, participants will polychrome a wooden Hamsa that can be used as a protective symbol for their homes.
All of the materials are provided by the organizers and are free of charge.
