Casa Árabe and the Sheikh Zayed Book Prize are organizing this event, which will be taking place at the institution’s headquarters in Madrid on the upcoming date of October 24.
The event will put the initiative into context and explain that its third phase is aimed at collaborating with the Félix María Pareja Islamic Library in order to expand its Arabic language collection in the medium term.
The event will begin with welcoming remarks by Casa Árabe’s Director General, Irene Lozano, followed by the intervention of Omar Obaid Al Shamsi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Spain, and Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center and Secretary General of the Sheikh Zayed Book Prize.
An honorary award will also be presented to Casa Árabe, at an event in which Jamal Al Suwaidi, an Emirati intellectual and Vice-president of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR), will also be taking part, later signing some of his books.
Jamal Al-Suwaidi is an Emirati intellectual, writer and strategic expert. He served as Director General of the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) from 1994 to 2020 and is currently serving as Vice-chairman of the ECSSR Board of Directors.
