From January 21, 2014 until February 02, 2014
Public Policies for Diversity and Co-existence January 30-31 - MADRID
The Observatory of Religious Pluralism in Spain, with the cooperation of Casa Árabe, the KAICIID Center for Dialogue, the Canada Foundation, the Embassy of Canada in Spain and the Embassy of the United States, is organizing the First International Congress on Managing Religious Pluralism on the dates of January 30-31 at Casa Árabe’s headquarters in Madrid.
The objective of the Congress is to provide public leaders with a space to share methods, strategies and experiences in public management in relation with religious diversity within an international framework. In doing so, it will bring together representatives of different confessions, those responsible for public policies and researchers whose scientific activities focus on studying religious pluralism, in a program designed on the basis of three subject areas: management policies and practices, observation systems and the latest scientific developments.
The Congress will be officially opened by the Ministry of Justice, the Secretary General of the KAICIID, Faisal Abdulrahman Bin Muaamar, the State Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Gonzalo de Benito Secades, the Secretary General of the FEMP, Ángel Fernández Díaz, the President of the Observatory of Religious Pluralism in Spain, Ángel Llorente Fernández de la Reguera, and the General Director of Casa Árabe, Eduardo López Busquets.
The opening conference will be presided over by Gérard Bouchard, Tenured Professor for Research on Canada in Comparative Studies of Collective Imageries and a Professor at the Université du Québec in Chicoutimi.
