Casa Árabe, with the cooperation of the Spanish Embassy in Lebanon, is
organizing a documentary screening and round table discussion on
Spanish-Lebanese relations, to be held on Thursday, December 4. If you are interested in learning about the different realities in the country of cedars, we look forward to seeing you there!
The event will begin with a few words of welcome from the General Director of Casa Árabe, Miguel Moro Aguilar. This will be followed by a screening of the documentary “España en el Líbano” (“Spain in Lebanon”), an audiovisual piece produced with the support of the Spanish Embassy in Lebanon. It explores the presence and history of Spaniards in the country of cedars.
When the screening comes to an end, there will be a colloquium about the Lebanese in Spain with the participation of Alex Mtainy, founder of the restaurant Makan; Laila and Nadia Hotait, an artistic duo: Laila is a professor at Rey Juan Carlos University and Nadia the director of the Co-production Forum at the Mostra de València. The Hotait sisters will also be screening part of their video performance We Are All Survivors. The event will be moderated by Karim Hauser, coordinator of Casa Árabe’s Cultural Programs.
