Madinat Al-Zahra. Umayyad Caliphate of Cordoba.

Madrid will host on June 15th the launching of the book La ciudad califal de Madinat Al-Zahra [Madinat Al-Zahra Caliphate City].
The event will count with Antonio Vallejo Triano; director of Madinat Al-Zahra archaeological site (Cordoba) and book’s author; Gema Martín Muñoz, Director General of Casa Árabe; and Manuel Acién, professor at the University of Malaga.
As a result of long years of research, compilation and reflection on the archaeological site of the caliphate major city built up by Abdurrahman III, this large and illustrated piece of work shows all the interesting points from the site and offers an archaeological analysis from the Madinat Al-Zahra structure complex, providing a global vision on its history and construction, its uses and its rediscovery all along the 20th Century.
The book launch will be held at Casa Árabe’s Auditorium in Madrid (c/ Alcalá, 62) at 19.30. Free entrance.
