Madrid in October means Architecture

For yet another year, Casa Árabe is cooperating on two events which
highlight the modern and contemporary architectural heritage of the city
of Madrid: Open House Madrid and Architecture Week.
During the month of October, several guided tours will be given by architecture experts at Casa Árabe’s headquarters in Madrid, the former Aguirre Schools, a work of construction by architect Emilio Rodríguez Ayuso and one of the finest examples of the Neo-Mudéjar style in the city.
Open House Madrid
An architecture, design and city festival that forms part of the international project Open House Worldwide, Open House Madrid is held in 35 cities around the world. The goal is for Open House to invite people and users to explore and understand the value of their surrounding environment, to raise awareness about the importance of design and reflect upon heritage and urban architecture.
These tours of the Casa Árabe building will be given on Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1 (on both dates from 11:00 a.m to 2:30 p.m. and from 4:00-7:30 p.m.. Registration is not required.

Architecture Week
The COAM, through the COAM Architecture Foundation, with the cooperation of the Municipal Government of Madrid, will be holding the Fourteenth Architecture Week from September 29 through October 8. At this edition, the guest city is Paris. Throughout this week, many different activities will be held with a focus on allowing the general public to approach architecture more closely. Exhibitions, conferences and, above all, tours of buildings and places of architectural interest, explained by our architect guides, will help improve people’s knowledge of our heritage.
As part of Architecture Week, Casa Árabe will be giving guided tours of the building, as well as a conference and exhibition on earthen architecture in Morocco.
The guided tours of Casa Árabe’s building will be held on Monday, October 2, with several starting times: 11:00 a.m., and 12:00, 1:00, 4:00, 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. No prior registration is required.
