Casa Árabe is hosting this exhibition by Javier Hirschfeld as part of the African Film Festival of Cordoba

In the series of photographs on exhibit, Malaga photographer Javier Hirschfeld revisits the work of Cordoba’s painter Julio Romero de Torres on the 140th anniversary of his birth (which will be commemorated on the upcoming date of November 9) and shows similarities between everyday life on the Senegalese island of Gorée and the customary painting by the artist from Cordoba through the figure of women, in this case African.

In accordance with this theme, the sign for the year 2014 edition of the African Film Festival of Cordoba is a re-interpretation by Hirschfeld of the work ‘The Sisters of Santa Marina’(1915), by the painter from Cordoba.

The official opening of the exhibition "Más Morena"will take place on October 6 at 6:00 p.m. and will include the participation of Juan Miguel Moreno Calderón, Assistant to the Mayor Responsible for Culture; Mane Cisneros, the Director of the FCAT, and Javier Hirschfeld, the work’s author.
