At its headquarters in Cordoba on Wednesday, June 11, Casa Árabe is organizing this exclusive master class,to be given by Syrine Ben Moussa, one of the most outstanding female voices on the Tunisian music scene.
The activity, held as part of Casa Árabe’s “Country Focus: Tunisia,” will give us a unique opportunity to dive deeper into an ancient musical tradition which remains alive while constantly evolving.
At this workshop, participants will explore traditional melodic modes (tubû’), characteristic beats from the Maghreb, vocal forms such as the muashshah and the zadjal, while also getting a closer experience with the nūba, a central feature of the malouf, through a practical, user-friendly approach. The songs are performed in Arabic, and phonetic transcriptions and translations will be provided for better understanding.
