Casa Árabe is hosting an intensive course on biomorphic design at its headquarters in Córdoba, led by British artist Adam Williamson, who specializes in Islamic art and sacred geometry. The course, organized with the cooperation of Art of Islamic Pattern, will be held from September 22 through 24, 2025.
Over three days, those taking part will get the opportunity to explore the traditional curved, biomorphic patterns found in Islamic art known as “biomorphs,” which combine plant, calligraphy and and ornamental forms. Through practical techniques, drawing exercises and analysis of historical references, the construction and evolution of these motifs, as they developed in places like Al-Andalus, the Maghreb and the Middle East, will be addressed.
The course includes classroom sessions and study visits to historical monuments in Cordoba. This is a unique opportunity to learn from one of the leading international figures in applied Islamic art, with extensive teaching experience at institutions such as The Prince’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts.
