Casa Árabe, with the cooperation of Cordoba’s Municipal Network of Libraries, is organizing this activity for the second year in a row, inviting us to get to know the city better through different literary works. Sign up here to “Read and Stroll.”

During this year’s edition of the initiative ”Read and Stroll: Literary walks with the cooperation of Casa Árabe,” our institution is collaborating on seven of the 14 tours that make up the full schedule, and the proposed readings will have the era of Al-Andalus and historical heritage as a common thread.

The proposals have been coordinated by writers Matilde Cabello and Máximo Ortega. The literary walks consist of leisurely tours that follow a specific path along which the landmarks mentioned in a text and the places which make up the work’s setting can be seen. Along the way, excerpts from the text associated with the places that are visited are read or commented on.

See below for dates and proposed texts, the holding of the activity and details on registration.

The walks will be completed on Saturday mornings, but beforehand, on the preceding Friday, there will be a pre-tour meeting to discuss what was read. Whenever possible, the author will be invited to take part in the meeting and/or in the literary tour. The coordinator of the meetings and guide on the walks will be writer Matilde Cabello.

Participation in this activity is completely free of charge. Just just have to be in possession of a Library Card from the Andalusian Network of Public Libraries, which is also free of charge. If you do not have one, you must apply for it when you sign up for the activity.
You must register separately for each specific reading/walk. It is possible and advisable to apply for more than one walk, specifying your order of preference.

Order of preference for selecting applicants:
- Date when the application is received (website form).
- As of the second walk, preference is given to those who have not yet participated in any prior walks (even if their application is dated later).

The book will be delivered 30 days in advance. Those who do not pick up the book by the indicated dates may lose their place in the group.

Similarly, if you fail to attend the tour without giving prior notice, you will lose your space on any other tours occurring later.
