Performance: “I Am Here”

July 09, 20218:30 p.m.
MADRID
Casa Árabe garden (at Calle Alcalá, 62). 8:30 p.m. Free entry.

On Friday, July 9, we will be hosting this performance, which resulted from the workshop given for three days by Nezha Rhondali at the Casa Árabe headquarters in Madrid, as part of the event series “Entretanto.” Also taking part in the session is musician Slimane Alaoui Ismaili.

Each of our body’s movements changes the space we occupy. The waving of a hand or an arm, all the joints which make up our presence, allow us to create countless ways of inhabiting urban space.

French-Moroccan dancer Nezha Rhondali will be guiding us through this three-day workshop, in a process of acknowledgment and dialogue between the self and others, oneself and space. It is a proposal which focuses on the three connections of the SELF, consisting of  experimenting with different ways of “being here” along with ten participants.

As a result of the workshop, Casa Árabe invites its public to attend and participate in the final performance to be held in the building’s outdoor space on Friday, July 9 at 8:30 p.m. The event will take the form of an improvised dance event that workshop participants will share with the public and with Slimane Alaoui Ismaili, a Moroccan multi-instrumentalist musician (bagpipe, qraqab and percussion).
