Casa Árabe and the Council of Arab Ambassadors in Spain have organized this homage to diplomat Mohamed Alfaqeeh, who passed away on June 3 in Madrid.
Forty days after his passing, Casa Árabe and the Council of Arab Ambassadors in Spain have organized this homage to the Libyan diplomat and poet, who always defended the need to back national reconciliation among the political groups in his country in order to put a stop to the advancement of violent extremism. His work led him to come into contact with Spanish authorities at the highest of levels.
At the same time, in his facet as a poet, he presented a book of poetry in Spain titled “It Could Not Have Been,” and he actively promoted and played a role in many events related with promoting culture between the two countries.
The homage will include attendance by the head of the Arab ambassadors, Musa Amer Odeh, Ambassador Alfaqeeh’s widow, Rabeea Ben Ahmed, the director of Casa Árabe, Pedro Villena, and Iraqi poet Abdul Hadi Sadoun.
