On Tuesday, September 22, Casa Árabe will host the premiere at its Córdoba headquarters of the documentary video directed by Juan Pablo Lucena about the creative process behind Hawāʼ, the 2025/2026 edition of Patrimonio Fértil. Don’t miss it!

ʼDirected by visual artist and performer Zhenxiang Zhao, Hawāʼ has brought together more than 60 participants over several months for workshops and collective embroidery sessions. Inspired by Andalusian ingenuity and the birds depicted in Caliphate art, the project culminated in a performance at Cuevas del Pino.

The documentary traces this process of shared creation, from the first workshops to the final performance, and captures the voices, gestures, and images that have shaped the project.

Patrimonio Fértil is a program launched by Amigos de Medina Azahara in 2015 to foster new perspectives on Madinat al-Zahra through contemporary creation and citizen participation.
