The presentation will be given by José Escudero Aranda, director of the Archeological Site of Madinat al-Zahra. Escudero will be accompanied by Eduardo López Busquets, the General Director of Casa Árabe, at what will be his last public event in the city as the institution’s General Director.
López Busquets will also be presenting issue number 11 of “Awraq: Journal of analysis and thought on the contemporary Arab and Islamic world, which is dedicated to “Al-Andalus and Mudéjar Art and its International Projection: Legacy and modernity.” This issue, corresponding to the first half of 2015, includes articles by well-known specialists who provide a multidisciplinary review of the international scope of the artistic legacy of Al-Andalus and the Mudéjar period up to our times. The following Casa Árabe publications are also being presented: Andalusi and Mudejar art in its international scope: legacy and modernity, along with others that have been given our support, such as “Los Almorávides, arquitectura de un imperio” (“The Almoravids, Architecture of an Empire”) and “La senda de los Almohades” (“The Path of the Almohads”).
