Course on Business Protocol and Culture in Arab Countries and Asia

From February 19, 2015 until March 10, 2015
MADRID
Classroom 4 at Casa Árabe headquarters (at Calle Alcalá, 62). Prior registration required.

Casa Asia and Casa Árabe are jointly offering another edition of this course, the registration period of which has now begun.

In line with the success achieved during prior editions, this year Casa Asia and Casa Árabe are co-organizing  another course on Business Protocol and Culture in Arab countries and Asia, two of the regions with the most growth and opportunities for Spanish companies at the present time.
When looking for new markets, being able to deal with commercial relations and make investments in other countries successfully often requires knowing a set of basic notions about the society, culture and business protocol of these places. Avoiding small misunderstandings which can create confusion in communications, knowing about the other parties and showing sensitivity towards certain key cultural and social elements in their environment can become decisive factors in properly carrying out negotiations.

The objective of this course is to provide the people and companies that do business or are interested in doing business in these areas with a series of reference points and tools which facilitate communication, through knowledge about the features of the country with which they may be dealing, as well as the basic forms of social and economic behavior there.

The course is divided into four units (each of which has 14-18 course hours):
1.    India and China (18 hrs.) (PDF)
2.    Japan and Korea (18 hrs.) (PDF)
3.    The Maghreb: Morocco and Algeria (14 hrs.) (PDF)
4.    Gulf Cooperation Council: Saudi Arabia, Emirates and Qatar (14 hrs.) (PDF)

General Contents:
Each of these units offers an introduction/contextualization of the politics, culture, society and religion of each region and country. Similarly, the course will  approach these countries’ economies and economic relations with Spain, as well as examining their business environment, legal system and business structure, as well as the factors which make it easier to do business there, and the relations with the companies and professionals in these countries (with practical case studies of companies and projects). The units will be taught by experts with great experience in each of the regions and countries.

Openings: Minimum of 12 people and maximum of 25
