Casa Árabe has just published “Reflections on Qurtuba in the Twenty-first Century,” the Arabic language version of the latest issue of the journal AWRAQ. This publication highlights the exceptional features which have made Cordoba a timeless city.
Its name alone, after a first abstract impression, evokes feelings and mental images which transcend known borders in time and space, leaving behind a mark about what it is, what it has been and, perhaps most importantly, what this city has the potential of becoming. This, coupled with the fact that the city has been a pioneer in its relationship with everything Arab throughout its history, has led Casa Árabe to the idea of proposing a monographic study in which the relationship between its entire past as part of Al-Andalus and its most contemporary present times are highlighted.
The five articles by specialists from different disciplines which make up this work bear witness to this past in the present, reflecting on Qurtuba in the Twenty-first Century from an objective and scientific perspective.
