Records of Memory: Elias Sanbar

From February 06, 2013 until February 21, 2013

The Casa Árabe Media Library has added to its collection Issue 1/2010 of the series "Pliegues de la memoria" ("Records of Memory"), the protagonist of which is Elias Sanbar, a Palestinian activist and scholar.

Elias Sanbar is one of the many Palestinians who left their homeland after the State of Israel was created in 1947. He is a notable figure in the Palestinian political scene and one of its most international academics. A Professor of International Law at the University of Paris-VII and at Princeton University (USA), in the mid-nineties he headed the Palestinian delegation responsible for the negotiation of refugee-related affairs. Likewise, along with philosopher Gilles Deleuze and publisher Jérôme Lindon, he co-founded the Revue d’études palestiniennes in 1981, a journal published and financed by the Institute for Palestinian Studies.
