Casa Árabe is presenting the Sahel Report, a basic document and
essential theoretical framework for understanding the dynamics of a
crucial region for Africa and the world, with the cooperation of
Geopol21 and Africa Mundi. The event will be taking place in Madrid on
Monday, December 9. Please sign up to attend.
The analysis presented in the document covers key aspects regarding future prospects, geopolitics and international relations in the region, with a special focus on the role of the European Union and Spain.
The report examines the multidimensional challenges facing the Sahel, including the impact of climate change, insecurity, migratory movements and political crises. It also identifies strategic opportunities in the region, including cooperation in areas such as sustainable development, regional stability and the strengthening of Euro-African ties.
Intended for both the general public and specialists, the report is positioned as a valuable tool for policy formulation and in-depth understanding of a region which is essential in contemporary geopolitics. With an all-encompassing approach, it offers perspectives which seek to foster innovative, collaborative solutions to the challenges faced by the Sahel region.
The report’s presentation will include welcoming remarks by Casa Árabe’s General Director, Irene Lozano, who will be followed by the opening speech given by the director of Casa África, José Segura, as well as representatives of África Mundi and Geopol21. After this will come a round table discussion to talk about the topics covered in the document in greater depth, with the participation of David Soler, the founder of África Mundi, and Ricardo Gómez Laorga, of Geopol. The talk will be moderated by Andrea Chamorro, an International analyst who works with Descifrando la Guerra (Deciphering the War).
