Casa Árabe and the Intercultural Spanish-Arab Circle have organized the
presentation of this poem book on Tuesday, February 27 in Madrid.
The event will be presided over and introduced by poet Asunción Caballero, with musical accompaniment provided by Houssam Hammoumi. The following will be reciting their poems (in this order): Antonio Capilla, Verónica Aranda, Maisoun Shukair, Muhsin Al-Ramli, Marisol Huerta, Estrella Cuadrado, Ángeles Fernangómez, Silvia Cueva-Morales, Abdulhadi Sadoun, Chelo de la Torre, Isabel Miguel, Bahira Abdulatif, Ángel Guinda, Ana Montojo and Mahmoud Sobh.
Syrian-Arab poet Nizar Qabbani says: “Amongst the Europeans, all roads lead to Rome. Amongst the Arabs, all roads lead to poetry.”
This anthology includes both Arab and Spanish poets, each with his or her own tone and poetic offering. With a wide variety of genres within poetry represented, this anthology allows us to live constant change in place and perspective, because the poems are written in Arabic and translated into Spanish, or vice versa, thereby outlining an interesting intercultural pathway.
The idea of this poetry book came about at the Spanish-Arab book fairs which are organized by CIHAR. And thanks to the cooperation between the publishing firms Lastrua and Juglar, this bilingual Arabic/Spanish edition has come to light, with works by 42 poets in both languages, coordinated by poet Asunción Caballero with the cooperation of the Intercultural Spanish-Arab Circle (CIHAR).
