Tel Aviv on Fire, directed by Sameh Zoabi (Israel, France, Belgium and Luxembourg, 2018, 100 minutes)

Salam, an ambitious 30-year-old Palestinian who lives in Jerusalem, is working on the set of the famous Palestinian soap opera  Tel Aviv on Fire, which is produced in Ramallah. Every day, to get to the television studios, Salam has to go through the strict Israeli security controls. That is where Assi works, the commander in charge of the checkpoint, whose wife is a huge fan of the show. To impress her, Assi gets involved in writing the script. Salam realizes that Assi’s ideas may be the best thing that has ever happened to him.
