On Monday, November 30, Casa Árabe has organized this online round table to mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. You can watch the event live on YouTube.

Since 1977, on November 29 of each year, the UN has commemorated the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. The date was selected because of its importance to the Palestinian people, given that three decades earlier, or in other words  on that same date in 1947, the United Nations General Assembly enacted Resolution 181, which later came to be known as the “Partition Resolution.” It has been 43 years since this day of solidarity was declared, and the situation has now changed. The expansion of illegal Israeli settlements and the erosion of international legality are difficult facts to question. Within this context, though the international solidarity movement remains steadfast, it is facing major challenges.

With the participation of: José Vericat, Director of the Carter Center for Israel-Palestine; Inès Abdel Razek, Supporting Director of the Palestine Institute for Public Diplomacy, and Itxaso Domínguez de Olazábal, Middle East and North Africa Director at Fundación Alternativas. Presented by Karim Hauser, Casa Árabe’s Coordinator of International Relations.
