Speech of the Algerian minister of Foreign Affairs

Mourad Medelci, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria, gave a speech in Madrid on "The Global Reforms in Algeria within its Regional and International Environment". The speech took place on Friday September 14th in Madrid and included also the participation of Gonzalo de Benito, Secretary of State of Foreign Affairs, and of Eduardo López Busquets, Director General of Casa Árabe.

The event took place the 14th of September at the institution’s Auditorium in Madrid (c/ Alcalá, 62) at 11.00 am.

Mourad Medelci

Mourad Medelci (Tlemcen, 30th April 1943) holds a master degree in Economics from the University of Algiers and since 2007 he is Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria.
He has been related to the public function for more than thirty years, because he has been General Secretary to the Ministry of Trade (1980-1988), Minister of Trade (1988-1989 and 1999-2001), deputy Minister for the Budget (1990-1991), Treasury Minister (2001-2002), counsellor to president Abdelaziz Bouteflika (2002-2005) and Minister of Finance (2005-2007).

Previously he had worked for the private sector, and he had posts of responsibility in corporations such as Société Nationale de l’Electricité et du Gaz (SONELGAZ), the Organisme Franco-Algérien de Coopération Industrielle (O.C.I), the Société d’Etudes et de Réalisation Industrielles (S.N.E.R.I), the Société Algéro-Suisse d’Etudes et de Réalisation Industrielles (S.O.ME.R.L) and the Société Nationale des Tabacs et Allumettes (S.N.T.A).
