As part of the Nights of Ramadan 2022 in Cordoba, on April 19 we will be hosting this conference by Pablo Rojas, who will give us a closer look at the knowledge about symbolism and mysticism in Islam, through one of the five pillars of Islam: the pilgrimage to Mecca, or hajj.

The basic tenets of Islam are expressed through its five main pillars: professing the faith, prayer, alms, fasting and the pilgrimage. Through this conference, Pablo Rojas will be giving us a closer look at one of these main pillars: the pilgrimage to Mecca, otherwise known as the hajj.

However, the pilgrimage is a phenomenon that has existed in humanity since the beginning of time and represents a quest, a journey of initiation to seek the creator of tangible forms not exclusive to Islam. It also holds a fundamental importance that has articulated and united the world across space and time, even today, opening routes of trade and knowledge, and building paths used to share mankind’s most important ideas.
