Tawassol means “closeness” or “proximity” in the Arabic Arabic language. And Tawassol the event will mean the coming together of three cultures through the music and fusion of both innovation and tradition. Baroque, Arabic, and Sephardic musical heritage will be coming together in this show, revealing unexpected colors and sounds in a journey which is meant to become an amalgam of sensations and a journey through time, with the help of two masters: Andreas Prittwitz (saxophone, clarinet, recorders), with his lengthy career in “fusion music” (early music, jazz… the “Looking Back” Project); and Driss El Maloumi, one of the most important Arabic oud players, known internationally as “The Poet of the Oud.” He is experienced in both traditional Moroccan music and in performing ancient Sephardic music. The quartet will be rounded off by Said El Maloumi (percussion) and Antonio Toledo (Spanish guitar).

Tawassol provides a musical approach leading to an awareness that it is only with an open spirit that fully embraces the rich artistic influences of the past that we can deal with not only the present, but also a shared, hopeful and productive multicultural future.
